The Tri-Valley boys’ and girls’ cross country teams traveled to California on Friday for the MT SAC Cross Country Invitational at Mt San Antonio College, billed as the world’s largest cross country competition with more than 150 races over two days in high school, college, modified and elementary divisions.
Competing in Division V for schools with an enrollment of 500 or less in grades 10-12, the Tri-Valley girls’ team won the race, defeating 19 other schools. Autumn Bender’s fourth-place finish led the way for the Lady Bears, which placed all six of its runners in the Top 50.
Both Tri-Valley teams return to local action this Friday at Bear Mountain State Park for the OCIAA championships.
