Hundreds compete in T-V Invitational Meet

GRAHAMSVILLE — Hundreds of athletes representing nearly 30 high schools from the Hudson Valley and beyond competed in last Saturday’s annual Tri-Valley Invitational Track and Field Meet in Grahamsville.
For the team standings, both the boys’ teams and girls’ teams were divided into a large school division and a small school division.
Arlington earned 219.5 points to win the boys’ large school division. Somers took second place with 96 points and Middletown was third with 95.5 points. The only Sullivan County team in the division, Monticello, finished fourth with 83 points.
The host Tri-Valley Bears won the small school division with 90.5 points. Rhinebeck was second (61 points) and Bronxville was third (44 points. Other county teams to place in the top 15 in the division were Liberty (10th, 19.5), Eldred (11th, 18), Sullivan West (12th, 15) and Livingston Manor (15th, 1.5).
Arlington also won the girls’ large school division by scoring 137 points. Middletown was second (61 points) and Hendrick Hudson placed third (54.5 points). Monticello was sixth with 41 points.
The host T-V Lady Bears won the girls’ small school division with 169 points. Bronxville was second (152 points) and Eldred was third (60.5 points). Other county teams to finish among the top 15 were Liberty (fifth, 41), SW (17.5) and Livingston Manor (11th, 17).
Arlington teammates Sebastion Hanson and Eddie Meranda were named the Boys’ Outstanding Track Athletes of the meet and John Carpenter of James I. O’Neill was chosen as the Boys’ Outstanding Field Athlete.
Amber Goodspeed of Middletown was selected as the Girls’ Outstanding Track Athlete. T-V teammates Dominique Darby and Mareena DiMilia were honored as the Girls’ Outstanding Field Athletes.
