Monticello, T-V Prevail at Indoor Track Championship

LOCH SHELDRAKE — February 9, 2007 — Dozens of athletes from local schools competed at Wednesday’s Sullivan County indoor track championships at Sullivan County Community College.
Boys and girls from county schools Eldred, Fallsburg, Liberty, Monticello, Sullivan West, Tri-Valley – as well as Ellenville, located in neighboring Ulster County – competed in a host of events in SCCC’s Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.
T-V and Monticello won the boys’ and girls’ team titles, respectively.
T-V scored 118 1/2 points to edge SW, which scored 115 1/2 points. Liberty finished third with 49 points, followed by Eldred (38), Monticello (26), Eldred (15) and Fallsburg (9).
Monticello earned a total of 96 points, while T-V finished second with 93 points. SW placed third with 72 points and Eldred was fourth with 67 points. Ellenville and Liberty tied for fifth place with 43 points apiece.
