Children’s day to be held at Monticello Casino and Raceway

Contributed Story
MONTICELLO — Calling all kids!
The Monticello Harness Horsemen’s Association (MHHA), in conjunction with Monticello Casino & Raceway, will have a fantastic Holiday Party for children, toddlers up to 12-year-olds, on Sunday, Dec. 20.
The party will get underway at 1 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m.
According to MHHA President Alan Schwartz, the party is for horsemen’s children as well as children in the nearby communities.
“Santa will be visiting from the snowy North Pole with refreshments, sweet treats and gifts for every child and if he’s not too busy; perhaps Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer might even put in an appearance,” Schwartz said.
Photo-ops will be available with Santa Claus and children will receive a framed picture like they do in the local shopping malls. But the cost per photo will be just $2.
Besides ole St. Nick, Miss Sunshine the Clown will be on hand for face-painting and erasable tattoos.
The feature race that day will be the Candy Cane Pace and every child who visits the winning horse and driver in the winner’s circle after the contest will each receive a candy cane.
