Visitors rangle wins

LIBERTY — The Liberty Indians hosted the Eldred Yellowjackets and John S. Burke Catholic High School Eagles on Wednesday evening in Section IX, Division IV wrestling competition.
In the first match of the evening, Burke defeated Eldred, 48-30.
The Eagles then stopped the Indians, 54-24.
In the final match, the Yellowjackets edged Liberty, 36-30.
“We wrestled very well tonight,” Eldred Coach Jim Corcoran said.
He noted that the Yellowjackets have “had some bumps in the road” this season, including some injuries.
“But we have had some nice improvement this year,” Corcoran said.
Liberty Coach John Lennon noted that his squad is also improving.
“The kids have been wrestling well and we were able to score some points tonight,” he said.
