HONESDALE, PA — August 13, 2010 — On Wednesday night Vivid Photo crossed the finish line to record his 42nd career victory and in the process he set a new harness racing record for the trot at the Wayne County Fair by three seconds.
Vivid Photo is not new to setting track records. The 8-year-old horse is a World Champion and Hambletonian winner and is worth $3.1 million.
Roger Hammer, Vivid Photo’s trainer and co-owner, has won 3,175 races in his career, $14.8 million in purses and nine times was ranked among North America’s best in drivers’ rating.
“I knew if he made the turns, he had it,” said Hammer of Vivid Photo’s record-setting performance at the fair.
Vivid Photo is one of Hammer’s 80 horses who resides on his farm in Bedford, Pa.
Hammer received a $500 bonus payment from the Wayne County Fair board for breaking the existing track record for trotters.
While Vivid Photo has won another race, he is not done with his career as he will be racing next week in the Poconos.
