MONTICELLO — August 10, 2010 — Last Thursday at Vino in Monticello, four recent graduates Sullivan County high schools were recognized for their track and field achievements. Each of the athletes were honored with a scholarship from the Sullivan Striders Running and Walking Club as they head off for their freshman year of college this fall.
With a large pool of applicants all of whom were outstanding athletes, the scholarship committee worked hard to pick out four student athletes to be honored.
David Wilbur, Morgan Hawkins, Katie Manzi and Anastasia Bowden are the standout track athletes who received scholarships. All four of them will continue their track and field careers in college .
Bowden, a Monticello graduate, will be attending Utica College.
Hawkins, a Sullivan West graduate, will be attending SUNY Fredonia.
Manzi, a Sullivan West graduate, will be attending SUNY Stony Brook.
Wilbur, a Monticello graduate, will be attending The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
