Paul Edwin Brustman
January 27, 1943 - September 6, 2013

Paul Edwin Brustman, a lifelong resident of Obernburg, NY, a woodworker and cabinetmaker for 50 years, died suddenly Friday, September 6, 2013.
The son of the late Frederick and Evelyn Theadore Brustman, he was born January 27, 1943 in Callicoon, NY. Paul was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth E. Hubert Brustman; his son, Brian and his wife Lori; and his loving granddaughter, Taylor Brustman; his mother-in-law, Florence Hubert; his cherished uncle, William Brustman, his uncle Clarence Brustman; his aunts, Ida Watson, Helen Brustman and Yvonne Brustman; sisters-in-law Regina Moran, Dorothy Schultz, Louise (Ernest) Bingel and Joan (Randy) Mills; brothers-in-law Walter (Sally), Thomas (Karen), John (Romona), James (Bonnie), Michael (Rosie) and David (Linda) Hubert, many nieces, nephews and friends, especially Jim, Earl, Richard, Jerry and Al.
Paul greatly enjoyed working with all types of wood. He always tried to help those in need, making a positive difference in every situation. Paul was a woodworker and cabinet maker for 50 years. He was a life member of the NRA, including the Legion of Honor and Millenium Honor Roll. He was a former member and past president of the Sullivan County Baseball Umpires Association from 1976 to 1992. He was a longtime volunteer judge and program supporter for 4-H woodworking projects, a Town of Fremont councilman, a former building inspector for the Town of Fremont, and a judge for the Memorial Day parade in Fremont for many years. Paul was awarded the Franciscan Medal by Holy Name Province in 2004, and the Pride of Sullivan Award for the Town of Fremont in 2003. He was a St. Mary’s RC Church Trustee for 8 years, a Little League volunteer umpire for 20 years, and a volunteer umpire for charity softball tournaments. He was a member of the Sullivan County School to Work Partnership and contributed toward building a school to work system in Sullivan County. Paul was a member and past chief of the North Branch Fire Department, a Delaware Valley Junior Rifle Club Instructor for 27 years, a member of St. Mary’s Holy Name Society, the Mandrake Hunting Club, New York State District Kiwanis and the Everyday Hero Award.
A Memorial Mass was held Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg, NY with Father Joseph Jeracek officiating.

Kenneth John Johnston, Jr.
July 15, 1928 - September 6, 2013

Kenneth John Johnston, Jr., 85 of Damascus, died on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Donaldson, on December 14, 2012. The couple married on July 1, 1965.
Born on July 15, 1928 in New York City, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Joanne Powers Johnston. He was a graduate of Power Memorial High School in New York and later joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Pacific from 1945 to September of 1949 when he received his Honorable Discharge. Later, Ken became an executive with Sabena Airlines in New York.
Ken and his wife enjoyed spending their summers at the family home in Galilee where they eventually retired. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish, attending St. Joseph’s Church in Rileyville. Ken was also a member of the Marine Corp League and American Legion.
Surviving is his sister Grace Bowen of Yonkers, NY; nieces Joann Mancuso of Middletown, NY and Martha Ann Ceniceros of Virginia Beach, VA; nephews Paul Bowen of Forked River, NJ and Joseph Johnston of Bradenton, FL; a sister-in-law, Anne Johnston of Virginia Beach, VA.
He was preceded in death by his brother John Johnston.
Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 14th at St. Joseph’s Church, Rileyville at 10:30.
Interment with military honors will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee, PA.

Anna Marie Lynch, 90

Anna Marie Lynch (nee Lewandoski), 90, a lifelong resident of Secaucus, NJ and Bethel, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 8, 2013.
Anna was born in Jersey City. She graduated from Holy Family High School and the NY Institute of Dietetics. She married her high school sweetheart, days before he started his service overseas in WWII. Together they celebrated 66 years of a loving marriage and friendship, and an industrious partnership. Anna was the greatest source of love, strength and support for their large and extended family, who will miss her terribly. She was unendingly gracious, kind and wise.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Lynch; beloved mother of Joan Lynch, Laurie and Seamus Cunningham, Peter and Cheryl Lynch, Joseph and Jane Lynch, Anna Lynch MD and Grace Lynch; cherished grandmother of Seamus and Anja Cunningham, Anna and Paul Cocuzzo, Tara and Paul Kreder, Christopher and Jamie Cunningham, Julie and Michael O'Donnell, Jamie Lynch and Jeffrey Giarusso, Jill Lynch, Patrick and Dominique Lynch, Joseph Lynch III and Megan Lamb, Sean Lynch and Ashley Gebhardt, Josephine and the late John Curry 3; great-grandmother of Breanna and Ryan Cocuzzo, Colin, Kevin, Cameron and Corinne Kreder, Emma and Sarah Cunningham, Jack and Owen O'Donnell, and Joseph Giarrusso; and dear sister of the late William and Thomas Lewandoski.
Visitation will be held at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306 on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Secaucus, NJ. Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
