Memorial Service
for Doris Korth

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at noon at the Callicoon Center Cemetery, Callicoon Center, NY for Doris A. Korth, who died on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. The service will be followed by a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. at Lanza’s Country Inn, 839 Shandelee Road, Livingston Manor, NY. Come share your memories and stories.

Charles Preston Welton
March 12, 1923 - August 2, 2013

Charles P. Welton “Press” formerly of Roscoe, NY, passed away at his home in Cape Vincent, NY on Friday, August 2, 2013 with his family at his side.
He was born on March 12, 1923 on Midway Road in White Sulphur Springs, NY. His parents were Edward Welton and Alice Hunt Welton.
He enjoyed farming, nature and all aspects of rural life. He operated a dairy farm in Shandelee, NY, for many years. An accomplished carpenter and mason he worked with Tempel Brothers Contractors.
Preston is survived by Marion C. Steele Welton, his wife of 68 years; three children (two daughters) Beverly Colburn of Maryland, NY, Beth White of Cape Vincent, NY, and a son, David P. Welton and his wife Dedra of Roscoe, NY. Five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Howard and Kenneth Welton.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family, with a public gathering to be held at the Roscoe Community Center in Roscoe, NY on August 17, 2013 between noon and 3 p.m.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, NY or to the Cape Vincent Volunteer Fire Department.

Gary Wootan
Retired Educator, 75

Gary Wootan of Callicoon ceased consciousness on August 3, 2013 at home, of complications of leukemia. He was 75.
Gary was the son of the late George H. and Olivia Wootan.
He had almost 54 good years of marriage with his wonderful wife Carol, and four wonderful children, Elizabeth, John, Madeleine, and Susan.
He had five exciting careers, including teaching high school and coaching girls track at Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School.
Although not religious, his loving wife Carol is deeply religious, but it never affected their love for each other.
Gary is survived by his wife, Carol, and by his children, Elizabeth Metura (Rudy) of Brooklyn; John Wootan (Christa) of Hermosa Beach, CA; Madeleine Wootan of Narrowsburg; and Susan Wootan of Oakland, CA. He is also survived by a sister Lynn Smolen of Sherman Oaks, CA
There will be no services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Alive Animal Sanctuary, 363 Derby Road, Middletown, New York 10940.
