Albert Schick, 91
November 24, 1921 - January 5, 2013

Albert Schick of Obernburg, a lifelong resident and a retired Dairy Farmer and former Inspector at Monticello Raceway, died Friday, January 5, 2013. He was 91.
The son of the late Anthony and Josephine Kille Schick, he was born November 24, 1921 in Obernberg. Mr. Schick was the widower of Evelyn Specht Schick.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Deborah Schick; three grandchildren: John, Heidi and Eric Schick; one brother, Lawrence Schick, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Specht Schick; his son, Thomas Schick; his sisters, Margaret Gettel Peake and Anna Dirie, and by his brothers, Anthony and Francis Schick.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2012, at St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg. Father Joe Juracek, OFM, will officiate.
Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Obernburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, P.O. Box 7, Obernburg, NY 12767.
Arrangements are by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Callicoon, NY, 845-887-4900.

Katherine Somesla
Formerly of Parksville, 96

Katherine (Kurpil) Somesla, age 96, of Fairfield, CT, beloved wife of the late Paul Somesla, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 6, 2012. Born in Sayreville, NJ, and raised in Parksville, NY.
Daughter of the late John and Mary Kurpil, she was the oldest of 12 children and resided in Fairfield for the last 64 years. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and mother who was loved by all who knew her. Survivors include four beloved children, Karen Somesla and her friend David Jacobson of Easton, CT, Lynda Rockwell and her husband Sidney of Sandy Hook, CT, Paul J. Somesla of Fairfield and Diane Miner of Newtown, CT; three cherished granddaughters, Jessica, Kimberly and Kaitlyn; two brothers, Sam and Peter Kurpil; two sisters, Eva Sasnowitz and Josie Devoe; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers Andrew, Charles, Nick and Steve and sisters Anne, Helen and Rosie.
A service was held at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield, CT, with the Rev. Dr. David Rowe officiating.
