Angela V. Spero, 99
January 8, 1913 – October 21, 2012

Angela V. Spero, “Ann,” of Mongaup Valley, a homemaker and longtime resident of the area, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Sullivan Co. Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 99.
The daughter of the late Carmelo and Rosalia Taverna, she was born January 8, 1913 in Manhattan.
Ann attended St. Peter’s Church in Monticello and was a member of the Bethel Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Daniel A. Spero who predeceased her in 1974.
She is survived by a son, Jim Spero of Morristown, NJ; five grandchildren: Dina O’Connor and her companion, Dennis Rundle; Dan Sarnicola and his companion, Virginia Frey; Dan Spero and his wife, Susan; Katie Spero and Matt Spero; seven great-grandchildren: Jami, Brandon, Taylor, Anthony, Ava, Sophia and Jessica; a great-great-granddaughter, Kylie; her son-in-law: John Gaetano Genovese; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter: Rosalie Sarnicola Genovese; a son-in-law: Joseph Sarnicola; and three brothers: Nat, Salvatore and Jimmy Taverna.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Road in Westbury, Long Island, NY.
The family would like to thank the Adult Care Center for the excellent care given to their grandmother.
