Allen Cooper, 75
April 27, 1937 - November 19, 2012

Allen Cooper, age 75, of Monticello, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, NY, after a long illness.
He was born April 27, 1937 in Monticello, New York, to William and Tillie (Goldsmith) Cooper. He grew up in Monticello and was a graduate of Monticello High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended Syracuse University for higher education.
Allen is survived by his wife, Sybil, at home in Monticello; his two sons, Mitchell Cooper and wife, Doreen Cooper, of Rock Hill, NY, and Robert Cooper and wife, Joann Cooper, of Mongaup Valley, NY; his two brothers, Gary and wife, Peggy Cooper, Larry and wife, Vivian Cooper, of Mongaup Valley, and predeceased by Mort Cooper of Fremont, NE; sister, Bonnie Lloyd of Monterey, CA; aunt, Bobby Aurut of Sacramento, CA; one grandchild, Amanda Cooper of Mongaup Valley; and many nephews and nieces.
He started Cooper Paint Distributors in 1973 where he always greeted you with a smile and maybe a joke or two. He always gave back to his local community as his thank you for people who he served and loved.
Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Glen Wild Cemetery, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, New York.

Raymond E. Ferber, 72
US Navy Veteran, JML Quarries Truck Driver

Raymond E. Ferber, a truck driver for JML Quarries, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in Callicoon. He was 72 years of age.
The son of the late Edwin and Laura Stoesser Ferber, he was born November 1, 1940 in Callicoon. Raymond was married to Linda Luckey Ferber.
Raymond was a US Army Veteran, a member of the Hortonville Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Joe Brook Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife Linda Luckey Ferber, his son John Ferber and two grandchildren Laura and Edwin Glendon. He is also survived by a sister, Virginia Stewart, and by a son-in-law Robert Glendon. He was predeceased by a daughter Kathleen Glendon and by his brothers Leonard, Robert, and Bruce Ferber.
Friends may call on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street Callicoon, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday November 24, 2012 at 1 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
