Calvin Clifford Drown
Retired from NYS Dept. of Corrections, 84

Calvin Clifford Drown of Woodbourne passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011. He was 84.
He was the son of the late Clifford and Minnie White Drown, born on December 20, 1926 in Ellenburg Depot, NY.
Calvin proudly served our country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1968 Calvin moved to this area and made it his home. He loved to garden and could grow just about anything anywhere. He enjoyed woodworking but most of all he loved spending time with his family. On April 1, 1982 he retired from the NYS Department of Corrections. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert Drown and his wife Patricia, and David Drown and his wife Jeanine, all of Neversink; his daughters, Bonnie Drown and her companion David Pomeroy of Neversink, and Melodie LaHanko and her husband Keith of Woodbourne; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Drown of Ellenburg Depot; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Marion Drown, whom he married on March 10, 1947, three sisters and one brother.
Services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
