Grace Rogers Lagarenne
July 25, 1920 - December 10, 2013

Grace Rogers Lagarenne, a longtime resident of Monticello, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the home of her son in Tyler Hill, PA. She was 93.
The daughter of John H. and Anna Crispell Rogers, she was born on July 25, 1920 in Harris, NY.
Grace graduated from Monticello High School in 1937 and Delhi College in 1941. She married Lawrence E. Lagarenne (1921 – 2004) on December 19, 1943. Grace worked for NY Telephone in Monticello, the 4-H Club in Liberty and Vincent J. Smith in Johnson City, NY. She was proud to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
“Mom was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, and was an accomplished knitter. She was a wonderful mother, a sweet and gentle person and had an absolutely wicked sense of humor. She loved a great joke and brought smiles to everyone’s faces.”
Survivors include her children, Edward J. Lagarenne and his wife Linda and their children of Tyler Hill, PA and Cecile Lagarenne Higgins and her husband Jim Higgins of Richardson, TX; sister, Genevieve Stine and husband Raymond; brother, John Rogers and his wife Doris; sister-in-law Ethel Hagquist and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Meola (1922 – 2012).
Memorial funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Monticello United Methodist Church, Broadway, Monticello, NY.

Donald A. Krantz
September 8, 1921 - December 17, 2013

Donald A. Krantz of the Beechwoods, a former dairy farmer and retired Postmaster of the Callicoon Post Office, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Roscoe Regional Rehab and Nursing Facility in Roscoe, NY. He was 92.
The son of the late John B. and Hilda Schuler Krantz, he was born September 8, 1921 in Callicoon, NY. He was the husband of the late Bernice Reum Krantz.
Donald worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1965 to 1990 and retired as Postmaster of the Callicoon Post Office. He was a member of the Liberty Elks Lodge, a member of the Retired Postmaster’s Association and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his three children: Donna Bury and her husband Thomas of Jeffersonville, NY, Terry Krantz and his wife Carole of Callicoon, NY, and Cyndi Brezina and her husband Andrew of Rockaway, NJ; six grandchildren: Timothy Bury, Michael Bury, Bryan Bury, Rachel Atwood, Megan Brezina and Andrew Brezina; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Muriel Krantz of the Beechwoods; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Bernice, Donald was predeceased by his daughter, Jan Krantz; his grandson, Joshua Krantz; and by two brothers, Everett Krantz and Clifford Krantz, and by his sister, Hazel Schuler.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Zachary Andrew Breslin
November 29, 1991 - December 18, 2013

Zachary Andrew Breslin, a line chef at the Villa Roma Resort Hotel, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013. He was 22.
Zach had a larger than life personality that would brighten up a room with his smile. He was an avid skateboarder and lover of music. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his loving family: his parents, Paul and Krystina; his brothers Joe and Kris; his sister Jackie; his dog Inuk; his grandmothers Babci Teresa and Nana Neddy; his aunts Suzie, Jenn, Andrea, Janet, and Regina; his uncles Johnny, Hank and Mikey; and many beloved cousins.
Zach has been reunited with his grandfathers and aunt.
“There are sometimes no words to explain the pain we are feeling.” RIP!
Friends may call on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main, Callicoon from 12-4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
