Anna E. Bauernfeind

A memorial service for Anna E. Bauernfeind, who passed away July 23, 2008, will be held Sun. Aug 23 at 2 p.m. at the Cherry Valley First Presbyterian Church, Cherry Valley, NY.

Patricia F. Haesche
Cashier, 67

Patricia F. Haesche of 119 Ogden Road, Groton, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was 67.
Pat was born on September 12, 1940 in Wayne County, Pa., a daughter of the late Delvin and Vera Kellam Highhouse.
She graduated from Delaware Valley Central School, Callicoon in 1958 and attended Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts.
She married George Haesche in Hortonville in 1960.
For the past 42 years, Patricia and George had been residents of Ogden Road, Groton.
She was a member of the Cortland Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1964.
Pat had been employed throughout the years at Smith Corona, Fay’s and Tops, where she worked for 33 years as a cashier.
Pat, along with her husband George and others started Cortland Christian Radio, Inc. WDRX-LP 100.7 FM in 2001 and was the Secretary for the Not for Profit Corporation.
In addition to her husband of 48 years, George, she is survived by two sons, Kevin Haesche of Lodi, Calif. and Erich Haesche of Groton, and their wives; five grandchildren, Alex, Zachery, Leah, Jeremiah and Levi; two brothers, Ronald Highhouse of Callicoon and Milton Highhouse of Belleville, Ill.; her sister, Linda Gotham of Palm Coast, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
Mrs. Haesche was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Patricia Haesche in 1986, and her mother in May 2008.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2008 in the Cortland Seventh-day Adventist Church, 106 N. Main St., Cortland, with Pastor Dustin Hall officiating.
Mrs. Haesche will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Karen, in McLean Cemetery, immediately following the funeral.

Yvonne Hughes
Ret. Supervisor, 81

Yvonne Hughes lifetime resident of Jeffersonville and a retired Supervisor for AT&T in Monticello died on August 14, 2008 at Hackensack Medical Center Hackensack, N.J. She was 81.
Daughter of Archie and Julia Norris Misner, she was born in Callicoon on March 29, 1927.
She was a member of St. Tammany Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of the Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Anita C. Misner of New Rochelle; three nephews, L. Michael Misner and his wife, Susan of White Plains, David R.A. Misner and his wife, Katherine of North Hills, Pa and Jonathan D. Misner and his wife, Lu-Anne of New Rochelle; one niece, Elizabeth S. Misner of Mt. Vernon; and eight grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Hughes; and her two brothers, Leonard and Duane Misner.
Friends may call on Friday, August 22 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville from 2 to 5 p.m.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 23 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. The Reverend Lee Andrews will officiate.
Burial will be made in Callicoon Center Cemetery, Callicoon Center.

Evelyn E. Huber
Ret. Real Estate Agent, 88

Evelyn E. Huber, a resident of Fremont Center since 1986 and a retired real estate agent, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at home. She was 88.
Daughter of William and Theresa Long Sheehan, she was born August 23, 1919 in New York City.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg and the Rosary Society of the church.
A family statement reads, “She was a great mom and aunt.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela T. Huber of Fremont Center; two nephews, Terrence and Kevin Sheehan; and her goddaughter, Donna Sinram.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, August 18 at St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg.
Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Obernburg.

Zela Mae Skinner
Homemaker, 83

Zela Mae Skinner of Honesdale, Pa. died on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pa. She was 83.
She was born in Rohrsburg, Pa. daughter of the late William and Mable Rider Robbins.
She enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening. She was an animal lover and liked crossword puzzles and Scrabble.
She is survived by six daughters, June Harrison of Milford, Bernice Cole, Patricia Skinner, Debra Skinner and Diana Cole all of Midland, Texas and Audrey Conklin of Honesdale, Pa.; two brothers, Harrison Robbins of Mollala, Ore. and Bill Robbins of Lake Como; three sisters, Eleanor Crossman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla, Ruth Kennedy of Waymart, Pa. and Verna Taylor of Lakewood, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lee Harrison Jr. and Clyde Skinner; and her longtime companion, Ralph Horne; four brothers, Raymond, Dan, Jay and George Robbins.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, Honesdale, Pa. with the Rev. Alice Pedone officiating.
Interment was in Pine Mill Cemetery, Pine Mill, Pa.
