Deborah Houghtaling
Democrat Proofreader, 52

Deborah Houghtaling, of Long Eddy, a proofreader at the Sullivan County Democrat in Callicoon and longtime area resident, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at her home in Long Eddy.
She was 52.
Daughter of the late Wilbur and Dolores Slicz Babcock, she was born on March 11, 1956 in Sussex, New Jersey.
She was married to Lyle Houghtaling.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle Houghtaling, at home; one son, Jacob Houghtaling and his girlfriend, Corrie Braley of Gainesville, Fla.; two daughters, Shanna and Rachel Houghtaling, both at home; five sisters, Cynthia Sweller of Long Eddy; Judy Birchneough of Wantage, NJ; Connie Bennett of Palm Bay, Fla.; Pennela Panowicz of Milford, Pa.; and Lori Devens of Wantage, NJ; and one brother, David Babcock, of Dover, NJ.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Hankins Assembly of God Church in Hankins at 1 p.m. Pastor Sam will officiate.
Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.

Ada Loiodice
Homemaker, 85

Ada Loiodice, a loving homemaker and a 23-year resident of Damascus, Pa., died June 10, 2008. She was 85.
The daughter of Antonio and Elena Baldasso Bettiol, she was born on September 4, 1922 in Treviso, Italy.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church in Callicoon.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Michael Loiodice; her children, Vincenza Loiodice, Elena Turell and her husband, Daniel, Louis Loiodice and his wife, Cheryl and Angela LaBoda and her husband, Alan; her sister, Elide Irwin and husband, Charles; her grandchildren, Andrea, William, Jessica, Laura, Ashley, Michael, Adam, Erica, Alyssa and Austin; her great-grandchildren, Cawley Ann and Jack; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, June 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main St., Callicoon.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Callicoon. Father Kevin will officiate. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Obernburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
