Ruby Romolo
Homemaker, 86

Ruby M. Seeley Romolo of Livingston Manor passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was 86.
She was the daughter of David and Ethel Sprague Seeley. She was born May 16, 1921 in Beaverkill.
Ruby loved nature and was very devoted to her family. She was a prize-winning cook. She showed her love through the wonderful cooking and baking that she did for her friends and family.
Survivors include her three daughters, Diane Kowalewski of Omaha, Neb., Angela Romolo-Lorio and her husband, Michael of Millwood, Lori Romolo of Bluffton, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Romolo of Liberty; two sisters, Clara Winner of Livingston Manor and Marjorie Smith of Glenville; along with 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, Richard “Chico” Romolo; and one great grandson, Ryan Patrick Romolo; 4 brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at The Community Church at Grooville. Rev. David Mc-Carthy will officiate.
Interment will follow at Lew Beach Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home.

Agnes C. Bodens
Ret. Postal Worker, 95

Agnes C. Bodens of Narrowsburg, a retired postal worker for the USPO in Narrowsburg and lifelong resident died Mon., June 18, 2007 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 95.
The daughter of the late Charles and Lucy Schmidt Smith, she was born in Neweiden on June 9, 1912.
Agnes was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Narrowsburg. She was a member of St. Francis Rosary Society and a member of the Catholic Daughters, founding board member of the Tusten Church and Cemetery Association and a contributor to the Lava Vol. Fire Dept. and a valued member of the Lava Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Jean Bodens; her former daughter-in-law, Lorraine Bodens; step children; step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, who along with friends, will truly miss her.
She is predeceased by her husband, Gilbert L. Bodens; her only child, Ronald P. Bodens; and her step granddaughter, Wendy Worzel. She was the youngest of eleven siblings.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, Narrowsburg. Rev. Donald Beck will officiate.
Burial of the cremains will be in Lava Cemetery, Lava.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tusten Vol. Ambulance Corp., PO Box 34, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

Neil H. Labato
Painter, 43

Neil H. Labato of Narrowsburg, a painter, and short-time resident of the area, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, Pa. He was 43.
The son of Frank and Marion Saksenburg Labato, he was born May 3, 1964 in the Bronx.
He was a member of Honesdale Tabernacle, Honesdale, Pa. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, Damascus, Pa.
A family statement reads, “Neil worked so hard so his wife could be home with their children. The best part of Neil’s day was coming home from work and spending time with his family. He was a true family man. He was the most loving husband and father, he will greatly be missed.”
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Patricia, at home; his parents; his children Neil Labato and Veronica Labato both at home; his brother, David Labato of Greenwood Lake; father-in-law, Charles Scheibling; brother-in-law, Charles Scheibling; his aunt, Lorraine Bodens; three nieces, Megan Labato, Nicole Scheibling and Amy Scheibling.
Memorial services will be held Sat., June 30 at 11 a.m. at Lake Minnewaska State Park, New Paltz. A gathering at the family home will follow at 2 p.m.

Betty Stewart
Homemaker, 85

Betty Stewart, a former resident of Monticello and homemaker, died at home in Monroe Township, New Jersey, on April 7, 2007. She was 85.
The daughter of the late Rose and Leo Tansk, she was born in Berlin, Germany.
The family moved to Monticello when she was 2. Her father owned a tailor shop on St. John Street. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1939. She lived in Newark, West Orange and South Orange, N.J. before moving to Monroe 22 years ago.
A graduate of Hunter College in New York, she was an executive secretary for West Essex Engineering Company in West Orange, N.J. before retiring many years ago. She was a member of the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Mass., Women of ORT (Organization for Rehabilitation and Training) and the Brandeis Women Association.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Suss of West Orange, N.J. and Lori Katz of Cherry Hill, N.J.; grandchildren, Robert, David, Gillian, Rachel and Isaac.
She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac in 1986.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 10, in Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Road, Union, N.J.
Interment was in Beth David Memorial Park, Kenilworth, N.J.
Donations in her memory may be made to the National Yiddish Book Center, Amherst, Mass.
