Douglas C. Conklin, 66

Douglas Clarence Conklin, a 15-year resident of Damascus, Pa., died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He was 66.
The son of the late Clarence E. and Mabel Williams Conklin, he was born August 21, 1943 in Bridgeport, Conn.
Mr. Conklin was a former Patient Advocate at the Landman House at Crystal Run Health Care, and a former member of the Tusten Lions Club in Narrowsburg, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Paskiewicz Conklin, at home; one son, Peter Conklin and his wife Mary of Bristol, Conn.; one sister, Alberta Hillriegel and her husband Reginald of Callicoon, NY; one brother, Clarence E. Conklin Jr. and his wife Barbara of Leonardtown, Md.; three grandsons, Austin, Aiden, and Ryan Conklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in Lyons Plain Cemetery, Lyons Plain, CT at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Damascus Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 63, Damascus, PA 18415.

Susan Gordon

Susan Gordon, 66, of White Lake, NY, beloved mother of Adam and Kim, died August 26, 2009 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York City. She was born April 10, 1943.
She is also survived by daughter-in-law Beatriz and four grandchildren, Sabrina, Ethan, Savannah and Tristan.
Funeral service was held at Plaza Funeral Home, 630 Amsterdam Ave., corner of West 91st St., Manhattan on Friday, August 28, 2009.

Joseph Khai Tran, 88

Joseph Khai Tran, father of Fr. John Tran, died September 1, 2009 at his home in Viet Nam. A Funeral Mass was held on September 2, 2009 in Viet Nam. A Memorial Mass (bilingual: Vietnamese/English) will be celebrated on Monday, September 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Monticello.
