Christine Bertolino, 42

Christine Bertolino of Barryville, NY, a longtime resident, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Bronx, NY. She was 42.
The daughter of Andrew and Pat Feighery Friedrich, she was born January 1, 1967 in Queens, NY. Christine was married for 14 years to Salvatore Bertolino.
Christine was a member of St. Anthony’s of Padua R.C. Church, a member of the PTA of the Eldred School District, and a Brownie leader.
A family statement reads: “Christine was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was good hearted and kind to everyone. She will be greatly missed by everyone.”
Survivors include: her husband, Salvatore, and daughter Charley, at home; her parents, Andrew and Pat Friedrich; and one brother, Keith Friedrich, all of Highland Lake, NY.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 24 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Route 97, Barryville, NY 12719.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Yulan, NY. Father Anthony Moore, OFM, will officiate.
Christian burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Ambulance, P.O. Box 63, Eldred, NY 12732 or to the Yulan Fire Department.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville, NY.

Retired Hunter College professor and clinical psychologist in private practice. Resident of New York City, Damascus, PA, and Nevis, W.I.
Dedicated parent, with Isabelle, of Eric Segal and Karen Shoplik and Amy and Everett Shorey. Doting grandfather of Ella, Margot, and Rachel. Devoted partner of Sheldon Soffer for twenty-eight years.
A celebration of his life will be held in the Spring.
