John Menges
Ret. NYSEG Office Mgr., 83

John Menges of Youngsville, NY, a retired office manager for NYSEG of Geneva, NY, and a longtime area resident, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at CRMC in Harris. He was 83.
The son of the late John and Regina Leonard Menges, he was born December 19, 1926 in Youngsville. He was the widower of Eleanor Smith Menges.
John was a member of St. Francis Church in Youngsville, the Youngsville Fire Dept., Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, Sampson SALTS, VFW, American Legion, the OLD Bs of Liberty. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Kuebler and her husband David of Youngsville; two sons, Larry Menges and his wife Tami of Rochester, NY, and Robert Menges and his wife Katherine of Jeffersonville; seven grandchildren: Chris, Sheri, Deanna, Tim, Kyle, Joshua, and Alison; one great-grandchild, George Kuebler; one sister, Doris Sweeney of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Regina Bernhardt.
There will be no visitation.
A funeral Mass was held Monday, September 20 at St. Francis’ Church, Youngsville with Father Ignatius Vu officiating.
Burial was made in Calvary Cemetery in Youngsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Youngsville Fire Dept., Youngsville, NY 12791 or the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral arrangements are by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffersonville.

James H. Schneider
Ret. Station Manager, 87

James H Schneider, 87, passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at Atlanti-Care Medical Center in Galloway, NJ.
Formerly from Jeffersonville, NY, he resided in St. Augustine, Florida, and lived in Hammonton for the past seven years.
James worked as a station manager for British Airways at Kennedy Airport in New York for 34 years, retiring in 1981. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and a Masonic Lodge member in Monroe, NY.
Pre-deceased by six brothers and three sisters, James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria; daughters, Linda Janicki of Glen Moore, PA, and Marleen Sanders of Hammonton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A private cremation was arranged by Ocean County Cremation Service, 206 Lacey Rd., Forked River, NJ.

Edna M. Feigenbutz
Retired Bookkeeper, 91

Edna M. Feigenbutz of Monticello, a lifetime area resident, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 91.
The daughter of the late Frederick and Lydia Maus Wahl, she was born February 23, 1919 in Fremont Center.
Edna was a bookkeeper for Walnut Mt. Nursing Home in Liberty. She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Obernburg, and belonged to the First Floridian Service Club in Winter Haven, Fla.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Prezioso of Monticello and Winifred Woythalter of Rockville Centre; grandchildren, Michael, Melissa and Keith Woythaler; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Michael Woythaler and Lorelei Huffmeister. She was predeceased by a brother, a sister, and her husband Francis Feigenbutz.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 21 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, at St. Mary’s Church in Obernburg. Burial will follow the Mass, in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Obernburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan County SPCA, Rock Hill Drive, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
Funeral arrangements are under direction of Ramsay’s Funeral Homes Inc., Monticello.
