Yellowjackets Struggle

ELDRED — June 3, 2005 – Overall record: 4-13
League record: 3-3, OCIAA Division VI
Top Players: Patrick Kean and Mike Prunka.
Junior Patrick Kean played first base and batted .326 for the season. Pitcher Mike Prunka went 3-5 with 87 strikeouts.
Season Highlight: Coach Frank Kean took the Eldred squad to sections for the first time since 2000, where they lost to John A. Coleman Catholic High School by a score of 7-6. Eldred had a 6-5 lead in the eighth inning, but could not hold on for the win.
Season Lowlight: Kean stated that losing such a close game to Coleman was tough for the team.
Other: The Yellowjackets will lose seniors Brian Daboul and Taylor Diuguid to graduation.
Kean has been the Eldred baseball coach for 32 years.
