ROSCOE — December 10, 2004 – The Wildcats of Livingston Manor bedeviled the host Roscoe Blue Devils by defeating them by a final score of 72-49 in Wednesday night’s championship game of the second annual “Blue Devils” Basketball Tournament.
In a game in which players from both teams hustled and battled with all of their hearts, Manor racked up a 10-point lead (34-24) at halftime.
The Wildcats clawed their way to a lead in every period except the third, when each squad put 15 points on the scoreboard.
Manor is now 2-0 on the young season, while Roscoe’s record is 1-1.
Manor is coached by Charlie Hicks, while Roscoe is coached by veteran helmsman of hoops Fred Ahart.
A trio of Manor hoopsters reached double figures. Timmy Bryant netted a game-high 15 points, Josh Mendez scored 14 points and Rob Baker added 13.
Troy Kirchner was the Blue Devils’ top scorer, pouring in 14 points. Daniel DeVantier recorded 12 points and Dustin Sullivan finished the evening with 11.
Both teams shot extremely well from the free-throw line. The Wildcats went a perfect 4-for-4 and the Blue Devils were 9-of-11 (82 percent.)
