Wildcats Take the Lead

FALLSBURG — February 27, 2004 – Although the score was fairly close in the first half, the Livingston Manor Lady Wildcats took a 17-12 halftime lead during Monday night’s non-league basketball game against the host Lady Comets of Fallsburg.
In the opening period, Manor (10-7) outgunned the Lady Comets, 12-4. In the second quarter, Fallsburg staged a short-lived comeback as they outscored the Lady Wildcats, 8-5.
But then it was all downhill for Fallsburg (5-11), as Manor outscored the Lady Comets in the final two quarters by margins of 5-4 and 20-5, respectively. As a result, the Lady Wildcats recorded a 42-21 victory.
Stats from the free throw line: Manor was 6-of-14 (43 percent), Fallsburg was 5-of-7 (71 percent).
Heather Sherwood led the Lady Wildcats’ offense with 11 points. Teammate Jennifer Taggart added eight points.
For Fallsburg, Jen Orlowsky was the top scorer with nine points.
