Margo Hendrickson
Beautician, 64

Margo Margaret Donovan Hendrickson of Roscoe, a lifelong area resident and a licensed beautician, died Monday, August 2, 2004, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was 64 years of age.
The daughter of the late Ralph and Loretta Irene Bury Donovan, she was born January 22, 1940, in Roscoe.
She was a 35-year member of the Roscoe-Rockland Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a former Boy Scout Den Mother, from which she made many lasting friendships.
In a family statement, it was said, "Anyone and everyone who knew Margo, knew her as the most loving and courageous woman they ever met. She will be missed deeply and loved forever."
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Hendrickson, at home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Bucky Bowers and Michelle and Bill Browne; a son and daughter-in-law, Lew and Dana Hendrickson; and ten grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Alyssa, Danielle, Dustin, Willie, Mollie, Ariane, Donovan and Katie, all of Roscoe; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Harris Funeral Home in Roscoe on Thursday with Lucille Freyer officiating.
Burial was made in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.

Crystal A. Knight, 38

Crystal A. Knight of Hurleyville died Monday, August 2, 2004, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 38 years of age.
The daughter of Henry and Annie Belmont Knight, she was born April 14, 1966, in Monticello.
She is survived by her father of Monticello; her mother of Hurleyville; a son, Christopher Michael Earvin Patt of Hurleyville; two brothers, Henry Lee Knight Jr. of Hurleyville and Anthony McKinney of Monticello; two sisters, Patricia Knight of Jamaica, Queens, and Janette Knight of the Bronx; several aunts, uncles and cousins; three nieces and two nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello, with the Rev. Willie Smith, pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church in Ferndale, officiating.
Burial will be made in the Hurleyville Cemetery.

David Gabai, 62

David Gabai of Monticello, a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 62 years of age.
The son of the late Yosef and Aliza Kimchi Gabai, he was born February 7, 1942, in Haifa, Israel. He was the widower of Rita Gabai who died in 1974.
He is survived by two sisters, Yael Lior and Osnat Minas, both of Israel; several nieces and nephews, including Naama and Itzik Lior of the state of Florida, and Gil Minas of Israel; and many friends in Monticello and New York City.
Services were held Wednesday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating.
Burial was made in the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery in Monticello.

Carol Herrmann
Frm. Sales Clerk, 60

Carol Ann Herrmann of Roscoe, a former sales clerk at The Little Store in Roscoe and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, August 2, 2004, at the Albany Medical Center. She was 60 years of age.
The daughter of the late Milton and Theda Oestrich Young, she was born October 5, 1943, in Roscoe.
Mrs. Herrmann was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Herrmann at home; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Patrick Yee of Quincy, Mass; and a brother, Robert Young of Roscoe. She was predeceased by two brothers, Milton and Clinton Young, and by a sister, Marge Foster.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Donald Knealing Sr.
Ret. Businessman, 70

Donald H. Knealing Sr. of Carlsbad, N. Mex., a retired partner in the excavating business, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his home. He was 70 years of age.
The son of the late Henry and Hazel Van Tuyl Knealing, he was born February 13, 1934, in Shohola, Pa.
He attended elementary school in Shohola and high school in Milford, Pa. During the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
Mr. Knealing was a former fire chief and life member of the Shohola Township Volunteer Fire Company; a former Shohola Township Supervisor; a former president of the Shohola Area Lions Club and a former member of the township planning board. In Carlsbad, Mr. Knealing was a member of the Joel Volunteer Fire Company and the Elks Lodge #1558.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Olsen Knealing, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Jr. and Roxy Knealing, and three grandchildren, Destini, Jacob and Dylan Knealing, all of Carlsbad, N. Mex.; a brother-in-law, Dr. Donald H . Olsen and his wife, Barbara, of Reamstown, Pa.; his business partner of 28 years and cousin, Edward Van Tuyl of Highland Lake; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a son, James, who died in 1995.
Private services were held.

Anna Horos
Ret. Deli Mgr., 90

Anna Horos of Augusta, Me., a former resident of Palermo, Maine, and a retired 37-year manager of Horn and Hardart Automats in New York City, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the Maine General Rehabilitation and Nursing Care after a brief illness. She was 90 years of age.
The daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Zajack Bayush, she was born May 25, 1914, in Johnstown, Pa. She was the widow of George Horos who died December 28, 1992.
Mrs. Horos spent most of her married life in Brooklyn and Jackson, N.J., before moving to Maine in 1982. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the senior citizens of Hallowell, the AARP and St. Francis Church in Manhattan.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Jane Horos of Woodbourne; a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Michael Altieri of Tombstone, Ariz.; three sisters, Betty O'Saben and Helen Ofsanko, both of Cummings, Ga., and Dorothy Ullery of Johnstown, Pa.; a brother, Paul Bayush of Johnstown, Pa.; six grandchildren, Steven and Joseph Horos, Colleen Jonas,
Denise Horos, Cathy Brown, and Brian Horos; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Irene Kampanis of Long Island; and her very special family at Capital City Manor in Maine who dearly loved her. She was predeceased by a sister, Josephine, and four brothers, Anthony, John, Frank and Michael.
Friends may call at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Msgr. Straub will officiate at a service at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Burial will be made in the Woodbourne Reform Cemetery.

Samuel Glick
Ret. Pharmacist, 95

Samuel Glick of Park Ridge, N.J., a former resident of Monticello, a retired pharmacist and the former owner and operator of the Rialto Pharmacy in Monticello, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at the Plaza Regency at Park Ridge. He was 95 years of age.
The son of the late Abraham and Becky Wapner Glick, he was born April 25, 1909, in New York City.
Mr. Glick was a member of the Landfield Avenue Synagogue and the Monticello Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bernie Cohen of Park Ridge, N.J.; a son, Harvey Glick of the state of Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Lillian Glick of East Brunswick, N.J.; a sister and brother-in-law, Ida and Lefty Herzog of Monticello; three grand daughters and their husbands, Laura and Rob, Mary Ellen and Itzik and Amy and Roger; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 (186) Broadway, Monticello, with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating.
Burial will be made in the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery in Monticello.

Roberta Caddoo
Retired Florist, 74

Roberta Ella Caddoo of Grahamsville, a retired florist for the Hillside Greeenhouses in Liberty, died Thursday, August 4, 2004, at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Lawrence and Esther Morton Ogden, she was born January 19, 1930, in Oneonta.
Mrs. Caddoo is survived by a son, James Ludwig of Port Jervis; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ed Campbell of Grahamsville; and three grandchildren, Tricia and Nicholas Corigliano and Connor Campbell.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Rodgers officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.
