Teresa Speiser, 88
Ret. Businesswoman

Teresa C. Speiser of Narrowsburg, a retired owner of Swiss Import Shop in Union City, N.J., and a 32-year area resident, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital-Hospice Care Unit in Wayne, N.J. She was 88 years of age.
The daughter of the late August and Theresa VanAtzigen Schmid, she was born January 11, 1915, in Union Hill, N.J. She was the widow of Max Speiser who died in 1987.
Mrs. Speiser was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Yulan and the AARP.
She is survived by a sister, Edith Bonsee of Weehawken, N.J.; a niece and three nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, August Schmid, and a sister, Martha Niederberger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Yulan with the Rev. Anthony Moore officiating.
Burial will be made in Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa, N.J., on Friday at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Yulan, N.Y. 12792.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Rasmussen Sons Inc. Funeral Home in Narrowsburg.

Marion A. Forest
Ret. Receptionist, 82

Marion A. Forest of Hurleyville, a longtime area resident and a retired receptionist for Drs. Pantel and Green in Monticello, died Monday, August 11, 2003, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 82 years of age.
The daughter of the late Orson and Sadie Lombard Nichols, she was born June 20, 1921, in North Charlestown, N.H. She was the widow of Clifford P. Forest who died in 1996.
Mrs. Forest was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello and a member of Liberty Grange.
In a family statement, it was said, "Marion was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who provided us with wonderful memories to cherish."
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Ruth Forest of Hurleyville and Clifford Jr. and Barbara Forest of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nathalie and George Ferland of Liberty; a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Lawrence Ferland of Claremont, N.H.; a brother, Herbert Nichols of Charlestown, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Debra Bivins, Richard Ferland, Cynthia Satterlee, Laurie Forest Weigand, and Ryan, Timothy and David Forest; six great-grandchildren, Michelle, Kenny, Greg, Jeffrey, Tara and Eric; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian French, Norma Chisolm and Vera LeClair.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Peter's Church, 10 Liberty St., Monticello, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Ginel officiating.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Lupus Genetic Studies, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 Northeast 13th St., Oklahoma City, Okla. 73104.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.

Beverly Haworth
Ret. Supervisor, 84

Beverly C. Haworth of Mongaup Valley, a retired supervisor of Anderson Screw Products in Jamestown and a five-year area resident, died Monday, August 11, 2003, at the Skilled Nursing Unit at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 84 years of age.
The daughter of the late George J. and Anna Anderson Olson, she was born January 31, 1919, in Jamestown.
A graduate of Jamestown High School, she was a member of the Monticello Senior Citizens, and an active member of the First Lutheran Church, the Singles and Doubles Club, exercise class and Vikings Lodge, all in Jamestown. She was also a member of Thule Lodge, the AARP, Super Travelers and the Salvation Army Home League, also all in Jamestown. Mrs. Haworth enjoyed taking care of elderly people.
She is survived by a son, John Anthony Haworth of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.; a grandson, David J. Haworth of Phoenix City, Ala.; a granddaughter, April H. Nastro; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Carol O. Carlson, all of Jamestown. She was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor V. Haskins and Loraine Anello.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Mongaup Valley with Father Robert Ginel officiating.
Burial will be made at the Lakeview Cemetery in Jamestown on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements were made by the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello.

Keith A. Curry
Const. Worker, 50

Keith A. Curry of Orlando, Fla., a construction worker and former longtime area resident, died Saturday, August 9, 2003, at his home. He was 50 years of age.
The son of Frieda Horton Curry French and the late Raymond Curry, he was born March 27, 1953, in Port Jervis.
Mr. Curry was a 1971 graduate of Port Jervis High School.
He is survived by his mother of Port Jervis; seven brothers, Robert Grant of Huguenot, James Grant of Afton, Lon Allan Curry of Melbourne, Fla., John Raymond Curry of Hilliard, Fla., Gary Bruce Curry of Junction City, Kans., Harold Douglas French Jr. of Glen Spey and Richard Arlyn French of Dingman's Ferry, Pa.; four sisters, Colleen Sue Curry of Franklin, N.J., Wanda Jean Curry Kutzler of Hilliard, Fla., Alice Marie Santos of Sinking Springs, Pa., and Denise Michelle Wolford of Fogelsville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Port Jervis, on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Cremation will be made at the H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg, Pa.

Rita D. Minikel, 51

Rita DeSio Minikel of Wurtsboro died Sunday, August 10, 2003, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 51 years of age.
The daughter of George J. DeSio and Anita Josephine Piazza, she was born April 9, 1952, in the Bronx.
She is survived by her mother of Riverdale; her father and stepmother, Eileen DeSio of Wurtsboro; five sisters, Georgetta DeSio of Youngsville, Denise DeSio of the Bronx, Michele DeSio of Staten Island, Ginny DeSio of Wurtsboro and Cathy DeSio of Albany; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She also leaves two dogs, Lady and Lucky, and a cat, Katie.
A Funeral Mass was offered Thursday at St. Joseph's Church in Wurtsboro with the Rev. Peter Madori officiating.
Burial was made in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 628, Monticello, N.Y. 12701.
Funeral arrangements were made by the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home in Wurtsboro.

Caley Jay Finkel
LCS Student, 7

Caley Jay Finkel of Liberty, a student at Liberty Central Schools, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 7 years of age.
The son of Abott Finkel and Yasna Leiva, he was born August 14, 1995, in Harris.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Peter Ericksen of Atlanta, Ga.; his father and stepmother, Rosa Finkel of Liberty; his maternal grandparents, Christine and David Leiva, and his paternal grandparents, Ian and Cheryl Finkel, all of New York City; a brother, Landen Finkel of Liberty; a stepsister, Savanna Ericksen of Atlanta, Ga.; an uncle Cesar Leiva, and an aunt, Dara Finkel, both of New York City.
Services were held last Friday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.
Burial was made in the Liberty Cemetery.
