How the Roscoe
Girls Did This Year

By Rob Potter
ROSCOE – December 10, 2002:

Overall Record: 2-15-1

League Record: 2-5-1 OCIAA Division VII

Top Performers: Senior Diana Failla led the Lady Blue Devils during the 2002 season. She scored 15 goals in the team’s 18 games. Failla also registered seven assists.
Senior Chrissy Rosencranse recorded a team-best 10 assists and also scored three goals.
Rosie Miesner, another senior, added four goals and three assists on the season.

Season Highlight(s): “I would say that we had two season highlights,” Coach Cliff Anderson said. “The first was beating [Livingston] Manor both times we faced them. We defeated them 3-0 and 2-0.
“The other highlight was tying S.S. Seward 1-1 down there and only losing 1-0 to them here at home.”

Season Lowlight(s): “Losing four of our starters [to injuries] in the second game of the season,” Anderson said of the Lady Blue Devils’ September match versus Chester. “Two of those players were out for the season.”

Other: Anderson noted that the 2003 Lady Blue Devil squad will be a very young team. In addition to Failla, Miesner and Rosencranse, Roscoe will lose two other players to graduation: Amber Gray and Danielle Sullivan.

Team Awards: Those accolades are slated to be presented at the school’s athletic banquet at the conclusion of the 2002-2003 academic year.
