Otto K. Green Jr.
Ret. Garageman, 75

Otto Kenneth Green Jr. of Roscoe, the retired owner of Green's Garage in Roscoe and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 75 years of age.
The son of the late Otto K. Sr. and Rose Arrigo Green, he was born February 8, 1927, in Roscoe.
Mr. Green was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former member of the Roscoe Hose Company #1. An avid outdoorsman, he was the former owner and member of the Four Sons Hunting Camp, a former member of the Methol Hunting Club, and a member of the Twin Village Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wood Green, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, James Kenneth and Nancy Green of Endwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Frederick Krantz of Marcy; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Wittman of Titusville, Fla.; an uncle and aunt, Joseph and Shirley Arrigo of Walnut Creek, Calif.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Thomas Green and Brian and Carolyn Krantz; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Felicia "Faye" Green.
Friends may call at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Wondra officiating.
Burial will be made in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe.

Harvey R. Davis, 66
Ret. Groundskeeper

Harvey R. Davis of Hurleyville, a retired groundskeeper for the Concord Golf Course in Kiamesha Lake and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at his home. He was 66 years of age.
The son of the late Corliss and Helen Moore Davis, he was born January 17, 1936, in Monticello.
He is survived by five brothers, Roscoe Davis of Vermont, Fred Davis and Gerald Davis, both of Hurleyville, Robert Davis of Liberty and Elmer Davis of Monticello; two sisters, Audrey Perscola of Hurleyville and Grace Curtis of Claryville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Liberty.
Burial was made in the Hurleyville Cemetery in Hurleyville.

Deborah C. Guldan
Deli Clerk, 40

Deborah Caryn Guldan of South Fallsburg, a 2-year area resident and a deli clerk for ShopRite in Monticello, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at her home. She was 40 years of age.
The daughter of Philip and Joan McLendon Inda, she was born November 26, 1961, in Chicago, Ill.
She is survived by her parents of Virginia Beach, Va.; her husband, Jeffrey Guldan, and a son, Jeremy Guldan, both at home; a brother, James Inda of Madison, Wisc.; and a sister, Catherine Sedvich of Chicago, Ill.
Cremation was private.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were made by the Ramsay's Funeral Home in Monticello.

Lydia L. Yereance
Homemaker, 86

Lydia L. Yereance of Circleville, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at her home. She was 86 years of age.
The daughter of the late Henry and Gustina Keil Luft, she was born February 4, 1916, in the Town of Warwick.
Mrs. Yereance was a charter member of the Circleville Fire Company Auxiliary, which was formed in 1970, and served as trustee that year.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth L. Yereance, at home; two daughters, Lynn Odendahl of the Town of Montgomery, and Lorraine "Lorrie" Hubbard and her husband, David, of Bloomingburg; three sisters, Amelia Predmore of Sussex, N.J., Helen Rudy of Warwick and Clara Henry and her husband, Jim, of Warwick; a brother, Kenneth Luft of Warwick; four granddaughters, Kelly Capwell and her husband, Dean of the Town of Montgomery, Kimberly Shaffer and her husband, Warren, of Lewistown, Pa., and Kerry Jumper and Paula Odendahl of the Town of Montgomery; two grandsons, David III and Kenneth Hubbard of Bloomingburg; and three great-grandsons, PFC James D. Meservy, serving with the United States Army in Korea, Rick Shaffer and Dean Alan Capwell. She was predeceased by five sisters, Katherine DeMouth, Mary Hubbard, Elizabeth Schlagel, Florence Urbin and Esther Langlitz, and four brothers, Henry Jr., George, Frederick and Clifford Luft.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Cornelius, Dodd & Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown, with the Rev. Garritt Vander Schaaf Sr. officiating.
Interment will be made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.

Israel Ramos
Painter/Carpenter, 66

Israel Ramos of Monticello, a self-employed painter and carpenter and a longtime area resident, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 66 years of age.
Mr. Ramos was born February 25, 1936, in Puerto Rico.
He is survived by a daughter, Felicia Ramos of Hurleyville; two grandchildren, Monique and Jasmine; five step-children, Marguerite Simmons of Orange, N.J., Rosita Herring of Edison, N.J., Kevin Herring of Asbury Park, N.J., Wanda Toney of Woodridge and Dennis Herring of Albany; and many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at King's Chapel Mission, Spring St., Monticello, with Bishop Leon Williams officiating.
Burial will be made in the Hurleyville Cemetery in Hurleyville.

Thomas A. Lenane
Ret. NYC Clerk, 78

Thomas A. Lenane of Richmond, Va., a former 7-year resident of Middletown and a former city clerk for the City of New York, died Saturday, October 26, 2002. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Lenane was born in the Inwood Hill section of New York on December 30, 1924. He was the widower of Lillian Lenane.
He attended Fordham Prep and Fordham University, prior to joining the Marines, and graduated from New York Law School in 1950.
In his capacity as city clerk, he officiated at many civil weddings, most notably those of actress Lucille Ball to Desi Arnaz and the wedding of former NY Ranger Rod Gilbert.
Mr. Lenane was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was actively involved with Mt. Carmel Church. He was a member of Post 151, Veterans of Foreign Wars, eligible by his service in Saipan and Iwo Jima with the 4th Marines Division - Signal Company.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gabrielle and Michael Roberts of Richmond, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Pamela Lenane of Minisink; and two grandchildren, Kristen Roberts Shores and her husband, Chris, and Andrew Lenane. He was predeceased by a brother, John, and a daughter, Michelle.
Burial was made Wednesday in Richmond, Va.

Desly Block
Ret. Legal Secy., 78

Desly Block of Monticello, a retired legal secretary for Cohen and Silverstein Law Office in Monticello and a longtime area resident, died Sunday, October 27, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains. She was 78 years of age.
The daughter of the late Sol and Hortense Putterman Hyrkin, she was born June 20, 1924, in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Ben Block who died in 1970.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Linda Block of Kauneonga Lake and Paul and Sora Block of Far Rockaway; two sisters, Phoebe Lane of Union, N.J., and Adele Stern of Englewood, N.J.; a brother, Roy Hyrkin of Westtown; three grandchildren, Aaron, Eli and Sima; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello.
Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery in Saddle Brook, N.J.

Robert R. Olsen
Laborer, 42

Robert Raymond Olsen of Livingston Manor, a laborer with Union Local #7 Operating Engineers as well as for the Ross Electric Company in Liberty, died Sunday, October 27, 2002, at his home. He was 42 years of age.
The son of Howard Sr. and Sharon Smith Olsen, he was born February 21, 1960, in Callicoon.
He is survived by a daughter, Alana Olsen of North Carolina; his father of Florida; his mother, Sharon Smith Reynolds of Honesdale, Pa.; a brother Howard Olsen Jr. of Liberty; three sisters, Della Johnson and Carol Gillow, both of Long Eddy, and Donna Olsen of California; two step-sisters, Sandy Everhart of Honesdale, Pa., and Jeanie Keesler of Kansas; a step-brother, Richard Keesler of Neversink; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Wednesday.
Burial was made in the Fosterdale Cemetery in Fosterdale.

Helen Denner, 63

Helen Denner of Obernburg, a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at the Grover M. Hermann Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Callicoon. She was 63 years of age.
The daughter of the late Charles and Berta Eggstein Denner, she was born October 26, 1939, in Callicoon.
She is survived by two sisters, Veronica Denner of Obernburg and Loretta Denner of Yonkers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Obernburg with the Rev. John Richardson, O.F.M., officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery in Obernburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grover Hermann Division Auxiliary of the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Callicoon, N.Y. 12723, or to St. Mary's Church, Obernburg, N.Y. 12767.

Francis J. Feely, 41
Marsh & McLennan VP

Francis J. Feely of Middletown, a vice president for Marsh and McLennan and a 13-year Middletown area resident, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001, in the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. He was 41 years of age.
The son of Francis J. and Patricia Walker Feely, he was born September 25, 1959, in Brooklyn.
Mr. Feely was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Otisville.
He is survived by four daughters, Jennifer, Lauren, Stephanie and Caitlin, all at home; the mother of his children, Lori Nelson Feely; his parents of Middletown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Denise Feely of Winterton and Stephen and Donna Feely of Kiamesha Lake; a sister, Alice Feely and her partner, Shelly Zabrowsky, of Brooklyn; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Otisville with Father Peter Van Phat officiating.

Dolores Rapkin, 73

Dolores "Dee" Rapkin of Monticello and Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at Aventura Hospital in Miami, Fla. She was 73 years of age.
The widow of Al Rapkin, she was born March 4, 1929, in Carbondale, Pa.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. Max Rapkin of Atlanta, Ga., and Cory Rapkin and his wife, Lisa, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob and Sarah; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at noon on Friday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 186 Broadway, Monticello, with Rabbi Isaac Gottlieb officiating.
Burial will be made in Ahavath Israel Cemetery in Liberty.

Charlotte Kolakowski
Home Health Aide, 70

Charlotte Kolakowski of Monticello, a home health aide and a longtime Monticello resident, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 70 years of age.
The daughter of the late Cornelius and Alice Hiler Clark, she was born October 19, 1932, in Wharton, N.J. She was the widow of John Kolakowski who died November 22, 1990.
Mrs. Kolakowski was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Monticello and had also worked at the Miss Monticello Diner for many years before recently moving to Hawley, Pa.
She is survived by three daughters, Cindy Burns of Fallsburg, Alicia Shickle of Mongaup Valley and Amy Kolakowski of Hawley, Pa.; two brothers, William and Gerald Clark, both of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Jean McCliment of South New Berlin and Mary Hubert of Dover, N.J.; 10 grandchildren, Brian, John, Kristopher, Brian Jr., Jennifer, Megan, Peter, Michelle, Alan and Olivia; a great-grandson, Adam; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sons, Paul and Daniel Kolakowski and John Novak, a daughter, Cindy Marsh, a grandson, Gerald Marsh Jr., a sister, Ginny Herman, and a brother, Neil Clark.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty St., Monticello.

Adele L. E. Evans
Comptroller, 74

Adele Louise Eltz Evans of Gaithersburg, Md., died Thursday, October 31, 2002, at Northampton Manor in Frederick, Md., after a courageous battle with cancer over the past 25 years. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Carl George and Adele Lillian Markert Eltz, she was born May 15, 1928, in Liberty. She was the widow of Robert Joseph Evans Sr. who died in 1984.
A graduate of Jeffersonville Central School and Drake Business School in New York City, she was employed as an accountant and then as a comptroller for businesses in the food, legal and health care fields.
Mrs. Evans enjoyed traveling around the globe, making many friends along the way. She took pleasure in shopping, in viewing and creating handicrafts, especially ceramics, and particularly enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends.
She was a member and former officer of the Laryngectomy Club of Montgomery County in Maryland.
Mrs. Evans is survived by three children and their spouses, Susan E. and Carroll Wilcom of Urbana, Md., Robert J. Jr. and Brenda Evans of Ijamsville, and Nancy E. and James Schabacker of Lexington, S.C.; three grandchildren, Michael Collins and his wife, Kimberly, Sarah Wyatt and David Evans; a great-grandson, Devin Michael Collins; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. and Deborah Eltz of Chesterfield, Mo., and their children and grandchildren; an uncle, John Markert of Newville, Pa.; a close friend, Joyce Forker and other close friends and traveling companions.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Private interment was made at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
