Michael Gallo, 89
Ret. Shoe Repairman

Michael Gallo of Boca Raton, Fla., and a summer resident of Hurleyville, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J. He was 89 years of age.
The son of the late Carl and Colonna Gallo, he was born in Bella, Italy, on May 8, 1913. He was the widower of Mary Gallo.
He was a retired shoe repairman and had owned a shop in Riverdale.
Mr. Gallo is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Jr. and Roslyn Gallo of Livingston Manor; two daughters, Geraldine Naclerio of Boca Raton, Fla., and Alona Sabatini and her husband, Armond, of Hurleyville; nine grandchildren, Denise Micheline, Michele, Michael III, Edward, Michele, Tiffany, Armond III, Damon and Brian; 10 great-grandchildren, Patrick Jr., Micheline, Paige, Eddie, Peter, Caitlin, Olivia, Alicia, Tristin and Angelena; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 264 N. Main St., Liberty, with the Rev. Ivan Csete officiating.
Burial will be made in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Mahopac.

Paul C. Benton, 90
Ret. Businessman

Paul C. Benton of Liberty, a lifelong area resident and the retired owner of Benton Brothers Propane Service in Liberty, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, in Ellensburg, Wash,. He was 90 years of age.
The son of the late Warren and Mamie Smith Benton, he was born May 2, 1912, in White Sulphur Springs. He was the widower of Ethel L. Benton who died February 11, 1984.
Mr. Benton was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and the Gideon Society.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Elliott of Ellensburg, Wash., and Charlotte Vaughn of Santa Maria, Calif.; a brother, Medwin Benton of Cody, Wyo.; two sisters, Martha Wilbur of Livingston Manor and Mildred Benton of Las Cruces, N. Mex.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Warren Benton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church, 7 North Main St., Liberty, on Friday with the Rev. Jay Witham officiating.
Burial will be made in the Rural Cemetery in Grahamsville.

Mary A. Prince
Homemaker, 71

Mary A. Prince of Monticello, a 44-year area resident and a homemaker, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 71 years of age.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O'Dowd, she was born March 8, 1931, in Jersey City, N.J.
Mrs. Prince was a parishioner of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Monticello and a member of the Women's Christian Club of Sullivan County.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Prince, at home; two brothers, Thomas O'Dowd of Shorham and Jack O'Dowd, both of Ireland; six sisters, Teresa Slikas of Brooklyn, Margaret Sayer of Long Island, Katherine O'Dowd and Christina Histon of Ireland, and Anna O'Dowd and Josephine O'Dowd, both of England; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Streets, Monticello, with the Rev. John Lynch officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Clara Englert, 95
Ret. Nursery Wkr.

Clara M. Englert of Callicoon, a retired nursery worker for Curtis Nurseries in Callicoon and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Julia Ribaudo Home in Lake Ariel, Pa., where she had been a resident the past several years. She was 95 years of age.
The daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Poley Englert, she was born August 17, 1906 in Fremont.
Miss Englert was a member of the Holy Cross Church in Callicoon.
She is survived by a sister, Nora Schrempp of Ozark, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Lee Englert of Damascus, Pa.; a niece, Marion Kessler of Ozark, Ark.; a nephew, Robert Englert of Damascus, Pa.; and six grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Callicoon with Father Ignatius Smith, OFM, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon.

Phillip E. Martin, 79
Ret. Poultry Farmer

Phillip E. Martin of Swan Lake, a retired poultry farmer and a longtime area resident, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the Seelig Division of the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 79 years of age.
The son of the late Percy E. and Bessie Metcalf Martin, he was born December 1, 1922, in Ulysses, Pa.
A graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, Mr. Martin was a member of the Swan Lake Fire Department.
In a family statement, it was said, "He was a very good, loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed."
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beatrice Martin, at home; three daughters, Margaret Snyder and her husband, Paul, of Mayfield, Jennifer Ausnehmer and her fiance, Don Suntala, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Barbara J. Martin of Liberty; four grandchildren, Tabetha and Russell Snyder and Jessica and Holly Ausnehmer; a brother, David Martin, and his wife Kathryn, of New Hampton; two sisters, Joyce Cosgrove and her husband, Michael, of New Hampton, and Jean Hill and her husband, Russell, of Middletown; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah L. Martin, and two sisters, Roberta Tice and Kathleen Warren.
Services were held Thursday at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel in Goshen.
Burial was made in the Wallkill Cemetery in Phillipsburg.

Roy Dymond Jr., 46

Roy Dymond Jr. of Sundown, a former corrections officer at Eastern New York Correctional Facility in Napanoch and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at his home. He was 46 years of age.
The son of Myrtle Warren Dymond and the late Roy Dymond Sr., he was born June 18, 1955, in Ellenville.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Dymond is survived by his mother of Sundown; four brothers, Donald Dymond, W. Scott Dymond and Douglas Dymond, all of Grahamsville, and Matthew Dymond of Woodbourne; eight sisters, Elma Dunn of Bethany, Conn., Barbara Dymond of Napanoch, Bertha Dymond of Kerhonkson, Cindy Michelson of Grahamsville, Caroline Clark of Peekamoose, Lori Smith of Concord, Calif., and Faith Dymond and Janet Dymond, both of Sundown.
Services were held Wednesday evening at the Loucks Funeral Home in Ellenville with the Rev. Jay Vogelaar officiating.
Cremation was private.

Fred LeRoy
Ret. Carpenter, 73

Fred LeRoy of Youngsville, a retired carpenter with Carpenters Union Local #19 and #12, serving as financial secretary, and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at his home. He was 73 years of age.
The son of the late Frank and Helena Esselman LeRoy, he was born October 24, 1928, in Liberty. He was the widower of Dorothy M. Eagin LeRoy.
He is survived by a son, Vaughn LeRoy of Youngsville, a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Michael Costello of Youngsville and Hoboken, N.J.; four grandchildren, Timothy and Jeffrey LeRoy and Michael Costello III and Jill Costello; a great-granddaughter, Adriana Marie Sanguinetti; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley LeRoy.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Jeffersonville on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery in Youngsville.

Bridget Kelly

Bridget Kelly of Harriman, a retired telephone operator for the General Services Administration and a 25-year area resident, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at her home. She was 94 years of age.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Clark Brady, she was born February 18, 1908, in Drumanespic, Bailieboro, County Cavan, Ireland. She was the widow of Edward Kelly who died March 6, 1950, after 18 years of marriage.
She is survived by two sons, John Kelly, at home, and Edward Kelly and his wife, Linda, of Yankee Lake; a daughter, Lenore Kelly, and her husband, William Setzler, of Seaford, L.I.; a sister, Mary Clark of County Cavan, Ireland; a son-in-law, James Moseman and his wife, Diane, of Ocean, N.J.; a granddaughter, Theresa Sanchez and her husband, Freddy, of Stormville; three grandsons, Edward Kelly of Whitestone, James Kelly of Rockaway and John Moseman of Pomona, Calif; three great-grandchildren, Jessica and Victoria Sanchez and Joseph Kelly; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Moseman, three brothers, John, Patrick and Phillip Brady, and a sister, Margaret.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Anastasia Shrine Church in Harriman.
Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery in Queens.

Paul Doolittle, 66
Ret. Maintenance Wkr.

Paul "Duke" Doolittle of Middletown, a lifelong area resident and a retired employee of the maintenance department for Emergency Housing in Middletown, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 66 years of age.
The son of the late Timothy and Delilah Doolittle, he was born April 16, 1936, in Wallkill.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Doolittle, at home; nine children and their spouses, Bonnie and Russell Zoll of Bloomingburg, Tim and Cindy Doolittle of Cuddebackville, Tammy and Bob Mapes, Timothy and Cherie Doolittle, and Paul Jr. and Sandy Doolittle, all of Middletown, Richard and Connie Doolittle, Andrea and Luke Mann, and Andrew and Becky Doolittle, all of Bloomingburg, and Roger and Melanie Doolittle of Middletown; 34 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Doolittle and Donald Doolittle, both of Middletown; three sisters, Millie Van Der Mark and Etta Kinne, both of Monticello, and Frances of Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown.
Burial will be made in the Wallkill Cemetery in Phillipsburg.

David L. Krumm
IBM Retiree, 60

David Lawrence Krumm of Apex, N.C., a 1995 retiree of IBM with 27 years of employment, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his home. He was 60 years of age.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Gina Meehan Krumm; a daughter, Sue Maher and her husband, Michael, of Bloomingburg; two grandchildren, Michael Maher and Kaitlyn Maher; and two sisters, Nancy Stein of Middletown and Harriett Heddy of Pine Bush.
