Jerry R. Holland
Ret. Army S/Sgt., 92

Jerry R. Holland of Orlando, Fla., a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant with 30 years of service, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the VA Medical Center in Orlando, Fla. She was 92 years of age.
The daughter of the late Ruben and Alice Kushes, she was born August 31, 1908, in New York City. She was the widow of Jack Holland.
Mrs. Holland is survived by four nieces, Dorothy Stark of New York City, Arlene Schwartz of Livingston Manor, Jill Boyd of Schenectady and Pam Williams of Fairfax, Va.; a nephew, David Rosen of Los Angeles, Calif.; and sixteen grand-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Agudas Achim Cemetery in Livingston Manor with Rabbi Irwin Tanenbaum officiating.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home in Livingston Manor.

Shamira Jackson
Shea Jackson
1 Day Old Twins

Shamira and Shea Jackson of Monticello, the daughters of Shannon Jackson, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at the age of one day.
They were born June 6, 2001, in Albany.
They are survived by their mother, at home; a sister, Arianna DaCosta, at home; their maternal grandmother, Della Weekes of Elmira; and their maternal grandfather, Horace Davis of Liberty.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello with the Rev. Willie Smith officiating.
Burial will be made in the family plot in the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.

William R. Lentz
Maintenance Wkr., 62

William Robert Lentz of Rock Hill, a maintenance worker for Van Etten Oil in Monticello, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at his home. He was 62 years of age.
The son of Mildred Courson Lentz and the late William Lentz, he was born April 25, 1939, in Garison.
Mr. Lentz was a member of the Mountain River Fellowship of Catskill.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Lentz, of Rock Hill; his mother; a daughter, Elizabeth Mary Naccarato of Hudson; a son, Timothy Scott Lentz and his wife, Laura, of Craryville; a son-in-law, William Naccarato of Hudson; five grandchildren, Nicole Leigh Naccarato and Billy Salvatore Naccarato of Claverack, and Timothy Scott Jr., Michael Ryan and Daniel William of Craryville; four brothers, Richard Lentz of Linlithgo (Germantown), Delbert Lentz of Catskill, Thomas Lentz of Linlithgo and James Lentz of Germantown; and a sister, Ruth Alger of Columbiaville. He was predeceased by two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Mountain River Church, Broad St., Catskill.

Frances M. Newman
Homemaker, 94

Frances M. Newman of Callicoon Center, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home in Roscoe. She was 94 years of age.
The daughter of the late Frederick and Frances Kille Staesser, she was born August 20, 1906, in Acidalia. She was the widow of George C. Newman.
Mrs. Newman was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Obernburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie McCabe of Callicoon Center; two sons, Gerald Newman of Bradenton, Fla., and Fred Newman of Suitland, Md.; four grandchildren, Brian and Kelly McCabe, Paul Newman and Kim Chorley; two great-grandchildren, Colleen Ann McCabe and Allison Newman; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Obernburg with Father Gus Richardson officiating.
Burial will be made in the Callicoon Center Cemetery in Callicoon Center.

Minnie Burns
Ret. Bookkeeper, 91

Minnie Burns of North Miami Beach, Fla., a retired bookkeeper for the Sullivan County Steam Laundry of Woodridge and a former resident of Woodridge, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Aventura Hospital in North Miami Beach, Fla. She was 91 years of age.
The daughter of the late Beryl and Dora Geneson, she was born January 19, 1910, in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Mack Burns.
Mrs. Burns was a member of the Woodridge Synagogue and formerly active in the Sisterhood.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Leda Burns of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Arthur and Dede Burns of Santa Ana, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Harvey Krieger of Woodridge; a sister, Frances of Maryland; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 186 Broadway, Monticello, with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating
Burial will be made in the Woodridge Synagogue Cemetery in Glen Wild.

Edward Fairweather
Ret. Groundsman, 65

Edward F. Fairweather of Otisville, a retired groundsman for the Middletown Psychiatric Center in Middletown and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 65 years of age.
The son of Frances Goddard Fairweather and the late Adley Fairweather, he was born August 3, 1935, in Middletown.
Mr. Fairweather was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Bullville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Bloomingburg Fire Company.
He is survived by his mother of Webbville, Kty.; his wife, Carolyn J. Fairweather, at home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward A. and Linda Fairweather of Middletown, Robert P. and Linda Fairweather of Westbrookville and David M. Fairweather and his companion, Josephine Fedorka of Port Jervis; three sisters, Dorothy Fairweather Weeden of Hudson, Fla., Bernice Olejniczak of Florida, N.Y., and Sally Smith of Webbville, Kty.; three brothers, Ralph Fairweather of Webbville, Kty., Richard Fairweather and James Fairweather, both of Middletown; four grandchildren, Robert Fairweather, Melinda Fairweather, Bonnie McGarr and Jennifer Hulcher; four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Austin, Brittany and Courtney McGarr; and nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday at the Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home in Middletown with the Rev. Betty Beach officiating.
Cremation was made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
