The to-be-built and as-yet-unnamed performing arts center in Bethel

Woodstock PAC
Naming Results Are In

By Dan Hust and Kevin Sanford
CALLICOON — July 6, 2001 – With over 35 entries from all corners of Sullivan County (and several states beyond NY), the recently completed “Name That Center!” contest by the Sullivan County Democrat was quite successful.
Interestingly, very few names for the coming performing arts center (PAC) at the Woodstock festival site in Bethel were exactly the same, and only two were rejected for being obvious jokes or mean-spirited.
In addition to publishing this list, we will be forwarding it to the Gerry Foundation for their review. It is their choice to accept or reject any or all of the suggestions, since the contest was not initiated, sponsored or condoned by them. (Although we have a feeling they don’t mind!)
It’s our hope they will choose one of the names put forth by county residents, as they are all interesting – if not entirely appropriate – suggestions for what promises to be Sullivan County’s most popular attraction.
If GF officials do say anything, we’ll let you know. And if we find out a date when a name will be picked, we’ll let you know that, too!
Our thanks to one and all who participated!
