Tri-Valley Wins Tri-Valley

GRAHAMSVILLE — October 6, 2000 – Heather Iatauro and Zane Illing of Tri-Valley won their respective varsity races at last Saturday’s annual Tri-Valley Cross Country Invitational.
Iatauro set a course record, clocking 19:41 on the 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) layout, while Illing had a winning time of 17:26.
While the Lady Bears did not have enough runners to qualify for a team score, the host boys’ squad won the team competition, beating runner-up New Paltz, 32-57.
Onteora edged New Paltz 58-61 to take the girls’ title.
Normally run in early September, the meet was moved up because otherwise there would not have been enough required practice days before hand, according to T-V boys’ coach Joe Iatauro.
“I was happy with our victory,” Iatauro said. “They all ran personal records on the course.
