Harry M. Phillips
Ret. Contractor, 83

Harry Morton Phillips of Franklin, N.C., a former Callicoon resident, died Sunday, November 5, 2000 at Angel Home Health Care, Britthaven. He was 83 years of age.
He was born in Orange, N.J., and attended Rutgers University.
A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he worked for Wallace & Tiernan Co., managed a co-op flour mill in Auburn, Ind., was a divisional sales manager for Coppes, Inc. of Nappanee, Ind., and ended his professional career as a general contractor in Callicoon.
Upon his retirement to Bradenton, Fla., Mr. Phillips operated a furniture refinishing shop and became involved with the Manatee Art League.
Mr. Phillips continued his love for art with the Macon County Art Association when he moved to Franklin, N.C. He was a 32nd degree member of the Masonic Lodge.
In a family statement, it was said, "The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff at Angel Home Health Care, Britthaven, and to caring friends and neighbors."
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alberta "Bert" Jackie Phillips; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter L. and Kathy (Slausenberg) Phillips of Boytertown, Pa.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn P. and Lynn Hillman of San Antonio, Tex., and Mary E. Phillips of Rochester; two grandsons, Michael D. Hillman and his wife, Sandra, of Campbell, Calif., and Todd P. Hillman and his wife, Dara, of Amsterdam, Netherlands; and a great-grandson, Michael L. Hillman of Campbell, Calif.
Services will be held Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, N.C.

Wanda J. Sibiga
Homemaker, 91

Wanda J. Sibiga of Sundown, a homemaker and a 16-year area resident, formerly of Valley Stream and Sayville, L.I., died Saturday, November 4, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 91 years of age.
The daughter of the late Francis and Marcyanna Wisniewska Lancucki, she was born November 6, 1908, in New York City. She was the widow of Anthony Sibiga.
Mrs. Sibiga was a member of the Town of Denning Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Linda Sibiga and a grandson, Joseph Sibiga, all of Sundown.
Graveside services and burial were held at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale on Wednesday.

Margaret R. Miglore
Ret. IBM Secy., 94

Margaret R. Miglore of Woodridge, a retired secretary with IBM, died November 2, 2000. She was 94 years of age.
The daughter of the late Thomas and Jane McGurk Mitchell, she was born in Irvingon on December 3, 1905. She was the widow of William Carroll and Frank Miglore.
Mrs. Miglore was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Woodbourne; Court Cheribum, Catholic Daughters of the Americas; Ancient Order of Hibernians; and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Teresa of Avila Church.
She is survived by a nephew, Thomas Boylan of Berlin, Md.; and two nieces, Debra and Carol Boylan, both of Cherry Hill N.J.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne.
Burial was made in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in North Tarrytown.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne.

Helen Z. Hulse
Homemaker, 77

Helen Z. Hulse of Mansfield, Pa., a homemaker and former longtime area resident before moving to Mansfield in 1983, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, in Wellsboro, Pa. She was 77 years of age.
The daughter of the late Martin and Mary Fee Myers, she was born August 29, 1923, in Highland Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Hulse, at home; two sons, Kevin Hulse of Milford, Pa., and Michael Hulse of Green Valley, Ariz.; a brother, Martin Myers of Eldred; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday at St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Yulan with the Rev. Clement Comesky officiating.
Interment was made in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Eldred.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Ulster County Unit, 159 Green St., Kingston, N.Y. 12401.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Gray-Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville.

Daniel A . Rugar
Ret. Iron Worker, 64

Daniel A. Rugar of Narrowsburg, a retired iron worker for Iron Worker Local 417 and a 25-year area resident, died Saturday, November 4, 2000, at the Grover M. Hermann Division of Community General Hospital in Callicoon. He was 64 years of age.
The son of the late Eugene E. and Katherine M. Decker Rugar, he was born October 8, 1936, in Walden.
Mr. Rugar was a member of the Lake Huntington-Cochecton Fire Department and the Fire Police of the fire department.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Rugar, at home; a daughter, Stacey Rugar of Lake Como, Pa.; a son, Daniel Rugar of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Beatrice Reuter of Wallkill and Katherine Budd of Otisville; a brother, Butch Rugar of Walden; a granddaughter, Cailegh Rugar; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Rugar.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg with the Rev. Phyllis Haynes officiating.

John L. Clark Jr.
Camp Caretaker, 60

John Leonard Clark Jr. of Barryville, a caretaker for Camp Tel Yehudah in Barryville and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at his home. He was 60 years of age.
The son of Mary Ellen Decker Clark and the late John Leonard Clark Sr., he was born January 19, 1940, in Huguenot.
Mr. Clark was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
In a family statement, it was said, "He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his children and especially his grandchildren. He also loved to build things with his hands."
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Phyllis Smith Clark, at home; his mother of Gulfport, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Vicki Clark of Barryville; a daughter, Michelle Clark and her fiance, Raymond Walck, of Milford, Pa.; three brothers, Stanley D. Clark Sr. of Tallahassee, Fla., Gurney Curtis of Monticello and Harry Chudley of Gulfport, Fla.; a sister, Mary Morgan of Huguenot; two grandchildren, Melissa Clark and Bruce Pederson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Clark, who died in 1999.
There were no services.

William Masha, 75

William Masha, a 10-year resident of the Town of Thompson, died Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 75 years of age.
Born in the Bronx, Mr. Masha was a graduate of New York University. He raised his family in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
A World War II veteran (1943-1945), he fought in the European Theater of Operations as a member of the 517 Parachute Regimental Combat team and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hurleyville and the United Way of Sullivan County and an active advocate of veterans rights.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice Marsha, at home; two daughters, Lorraine Lopez and Gail Masha, and a son, William Masha, all of the Bronx.
Services were held Monday at the Williams Funeral Home in the Bronx, A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Tuesday at St. Margaret's Church in the Bronx.
Burial was made in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Catherine Mazoff
Retired Cook, 70

Catherine J. Thompson Mazoff of Middletown, a retired cook, died Wednesday, November 8, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown after a long illness. She was 70 years of age.
The daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Jennie Sherlock Thompson, she was born April 19, 1930, in Goshen.
Mrs. Mazoff was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Bloomingburg.
She is survived by her husband, Lindy C. Mazoff of Middletown; three sons, Anthony Murabito Jr. of Middletown, Edward Murabito and his wife, Marie, of Bloomingburg, and Vincent Murabito and his companion, Rose, of Middletown; three daughters, Cathy Murabito and her companion, Steve, of Middletown, Ginger Cannizzo of Middletown, and Mary Burigo and her companion, Bill, of Slate Hill; a brother, Walter Thompson of Florida, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Danielle, Marc, Michael, Jaime, Joey and Michelle; and three great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Lauren and Devin. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Cassandra.
Friends may call at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Bloomingburg.
Burial will be made in Bloomingburg Cemetery in Bloomingburg.

Mary Nuzzo, 92

Mary Nuzzo of Warwick, formerly of the Bronx, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, in Liberty. She was 92 years of age.
The daughter of the late Leonard and Louisa Gentile De Stefano, she was born June 15, 1908, in the Bronx. She was the widow of Joseph Nuzzo.
Mrs. Nuzzo was a member of the AARP.
She is survived by a son, Salvatore Nuzzo of Warwick,; four grandchildren, Salvatore, Peter, Danielle and Nicole; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Sally M. Hummel
Homemaker, 62

Sally M. Hummel of Bloomingburg, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000, at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 62 years of age.
The daughter of the late Ernest and Florence Green Stephens, she was born February 18, 1938, in Middletown.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Theodore "Teddy" Hummel, at home; a daughter, Doreen June; a son, Teddy Hummel; three grandchildren, Wayne and Cassandra June and Jessica Hummel; five sisters, LaVera Jones and Mary Lou Smykla, both of Middletown, Elizabeth Vandermeulen of Walden, Alice Noviski of New Hampton and Sandra Lee Peavey of Bloomingburg; and three brothers, Joseph Stephens of South Carolina, John Stephens of Bloomingburg, and Barry Stephens of Wurtsboro. She was predeceased by four brothers, Frank Stephens, Ernest Stephens Jr., Richard Stephens and Charles Stephens, and a sister, Louise Egan.
Friends may call at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.

Gabriella Haywood
Exec. Secy., 51

Gabriella "Gail" Haywood of the Bronx, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. She was 51 years of age.
The daughter of Naomi Haywood and the late George Haywood, she was born October 9, 1949, in the Bronx.
Ms. Haywood attended Lehman College and Hunter College in the Bronx. She was an executive secretary for the Doyle Dane Bernbach Corporation in Manhattan and a teacher's assistant at P.S. 26 in the Bronx.
A faithful member of the Radio Church of God in Manhattan, she served as assistant organist and was a member of the youth and adult choirs. Ms. Haywood enjoyed helping young people and encouraged them to achieve their highest potential. She served as president of the Welcome Committee and as a teacher in the Vacation Bible School. Ms. Haywood was also a Sunday School teacher for the beginner's class at the First Church of God in South Fallsburg.
She is survived by her mother of the Bronx; a sister-and brother-in-law, Rose and Robert Lockley Sr. of Richmond, Va.; two nephews and two nieces, Robert Troy Lockley Jr. and his wife, LeShaun, Xavier Lockley, Ingrid Lockley and Love Lockley, all of Richmond, Va.; a great-aunt, Janie Clark of Halifax, Va.; four aunts, Mary Searles, Orpha Battle and Beth Young, all of South Fallsburg, and Rachel Graham of Menomonee Falls, Wisc.; two uncles, Edward Graham Sr. of Menomonee Falls, Wisc., and Frank Young of New York City; her godparents, John and Rose Groenveldt; her godson, Brandson Battle and godsister, Komaris Fisher of South Fallsburg; a close friend, Sophia Martin, of the Bronx; several grandnephews; a grandniece; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Friends may call at the Radio Church of God, 220 West 145th St., New York City, on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church with Pastor Joseph White officiating.
Interment will be made in Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello, conducted by Pastor Ruth Sellers, Mission Church of God in Liberty.
A repast will be held at 3:30 p.m. at First Church of God, 6005 Route 42, South Fallsburg.
