Grace M. Campbell
Homemaker, 68

Grace M. Campbell of Burlingham, a homemaker and a 15-year area resident, died Saturday, September 9, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 68 years of age.
The daughter of the late John James and Grace Mildred Keeney MacDonald, she was born October 9, 1931, in Hartford, Conn.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband, Raymond Campbell, at home; four children, Sharon Mead and her husband, Hal, of Burlingham, Cynthia Boutot of Southington, Conn., Kathleen Spratta of Wurtsboro and John Spratta of Chardon, Ohio; two brothers, John MacDonald and Richard MacDonald of Connecticut; three sisters, Dorothy Brunet, Mary Anziano and Ruth Kelly, all of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Hal and Raymond Mead, Daniel Boutot and Holly Spratta; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Vivian Tremblay.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home, 1525 Burlingham Road, Pine Bush.
A memorial service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert B. Hewitt officiating.
Cremation will be made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Willie M. L. Strong
Ret. Nurses' Aide, 74

Willie Mae Lymon Strong, a retired nurses' aide at Community General Hospital in Monticello and a longtime area resident, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at the Skilled Nursing Unit in Harris. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Lymon, she was born June 16, 1926, in Fairhope, Ala. She was the widow of Joe Horace Strong.
Mrs. Strong was a member of the Bethlehem Temple Church in Monticello.
She is survived by four sons, Matthew Eric Strong of Monticello, Eddie Lee Strong of the Netherlands, Joseph Laverne Strong of Boone, N.C., and Anthony Thomas Williams of Georgia; a daughter, Lela Christine Houston of Plainsboro, N.J.; a sister, Margarie Palmer of Bakersfield, Calif.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Freddie Lee "Foxy" Strong, a daughter, Lola Armstead and two brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Lymon.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Bethlehem Temple Church, Fairground Road, Monticello, with the Rev. Mervin Armstead officiating.
Burial will be made in Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.

Ruth E. Bailey
Homemaker, 89

Ruth E. Bailey of Grahamsville died Saturday, September 9, 2000, at the Seelig Division of Community General Hospital in Harris. She was 89 years of age.
The daughter of the late Edward and Mary D. Detjen Walker, she was born January 20, 1911, in Ferndale.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberty.
She is survived by a son, Paul Johnson of Liberty; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Caroline Morton; a cousin, Lillian Thegal; and a son, Lee Johnson.
Burial was private in the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery in Grahamsville.

LeGrand Cudney
Ret. Farmer, 88

LeGrand "Lee" Cudney of Wurtsboro, a retired farmer and a lifelong area resident, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at his home. He was 88 years of age.
The son of the late Charles and Ida Merritt Cudney, he was born December 23, 1911, in Wurtsboro.
Mr. Cudney was a member of the Mamakating United Methodist Church in Summitville.
He is survived by a sister, Bertha Riseley of Summitville; a niece, Karen LeVan and her husband, Joe, of Poland, Ind.; a nephew, Walter LeVan and his wife, Evelyn, of Fellsmere, Fla.; two cousins and their spouses, Harry and Thelma Rundle of Wurtsboro and Edna and Gifford Welling of Sarasota, Fla.; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Services were held Monday at the Loucks Funeral Home in Ellenville with the Rev. Randolph Yerkes officiating.
Burial was made in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Phillipsport.

Gladys Westerman
Homemaker, 93

Gladys Westerman of Honesdale, Pa., a homemaker and a former Walden resident, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pa. She was 93 years of age.
The daughter of the late Philip and Rachel McNair Weir, she was born March 22, 1907, in New Windsor. She was the widow of J. Raymond Westerman.
Together with her late husband, Mrs. Westerman owned and operated the former Westerman's Hardware Store in Walden. She was a member and former Sunday School teacher of the Walden United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sons, George Westerman of Denville, N.J., Robert Westerman of Rock Hill, William Westerman of Cape Cod, Mass., and Roger Westerman of Autaugaville, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Roy Weir, and a sister, Anita Weir.
Private graveside services and burial were held at the Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

John Hollingsworth
Ret. Oper. Eng., 92

John H. Hollingsworth of Beach Lake, Pa., a retired operating engineer for Ruppert Brewery in New York City and a 27-year area resident, died Friday, September 8, 2000, at his home. He was 92 years of age.
The son of the late Benjamin C. and Christina Hollingsworth, he was born April 13, 1908, in Brooklyn. He was the widower of Madeline Hoag Hollingsworth who died in 1994.
Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of the Operating Engineers Union.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Pat Hollingsworth of Brooktondale; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Rasmussen Sons Funeral Home in Narrowsburg on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Cummings officiating.
Interment will be made in the Glen Cove Cemetery in Narrowsburg.

Palma C. Failla, 70
Ret. from McDonald's

Palma C. Failla of Liberty, a former employee of McDonald's in Liberty and a 27-year area resident, died Sunday, September 10, 2000, at her home. She was 70 years of age.
The daughter of the late Vincent and Lillian Binghi Bonanno, she was born December 8, 1929, in the Bronx.
She is survived by her husband, Mario Failla, at home; three sons, Robert Failla of Liberty, Charles Failla of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mario Failla Jr. of Cape Coral, Fla.; two sisters, Frances Devigne of Stamford, Conn., and Eleanor Muggleston of Bradenton, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Eleanor Morgans, a brother, Vincent Bonanno Jr. and a sister, Vivian Gibson.
Friends may call at the Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 South Main St., Liberty, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Msgr. Edward Straub officiating.
Cremation will be private at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

James Banta Jr., 26

James Robert "J.R." Banta Jr. of Englewood, Colo., died there Thursday, September 7, 2000, from complications due to asthma. He was 26 years of age.
The son of James Robert Banta Sr. and Debra Schmitt Banta Thomas, he was born September; 3, 1974, in Point Pleasant, N.J.
He is survived by his mother of Cochecton; his father of Texas; a brother, Wade Thomas of Lake Wallenpaupak, Pa.; two sisters, Sarah and Tori Banta of Colorado; his grandmothers, Virginia Schmitt of Cochecton and Geraldine Banta of New Jersey; a grandfather; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home in Callicoon on Wednesday from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Phyllis Haynes officiating.
Cremation will be made at the Twin Tiers Crematory in Endicott.

Craig Inzirillo
S&G Foreman, 42

Craig S. Inzirillo of Middletown, a foreman for S & G Distributors in Montgomery and a longtime area resident, died Thursday, September 7, 2000, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. He was 42 years of age.
The son of Bernice Edelheit Mandell and the late Fioravanti Inzirillo, he was born August 23, 1958, in Jersey City, N.J.
Mr. Inzirillo was a member of Teamsters Local #445 in Newburgh and was an ABC Bowling League champion.
He is survived by his mother of Henderson, Nev.; his wife, Doreen Bosco Inzirillo and a daughter, Dana Inzirillo, both of Rock Hill; two step-sons, Michael and Brian Golden, both of Middletown; two sisters, Jodi Riccardi of Union City, N.J., and Lida Smith of Palisades Park, N.J.; three nephews, Michael, Matthew and Nicholaus; and three nieces, Melanie, Amanda and Melissa.
Friends may call at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 195 Broadway, Monticello, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Services will be held Tuesday evening at the funeral home at 7 p.m.
Cremation will be made at the Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
